Kazak carpet are knotted by hand with combed wool, of great fineness and resistance. Kazak carpets are inspired by the colorful and geometric motifs of the Caucasus. They are washed to the stone to obtain an antique effect finish.
The beautiful Kazak carpets are characterized by their geometric designs. These Oriental rugs are now produced in Pakistan and are inspired by old Caucasian and Russian rugs. The predominant colors are red, blue and beige / yellow. They are durable wool carpets of high quality that when finished are washed to the stone to produce a finish with an antique effect.
The Caucasian carpets are from the areas south, east and north of the mountain chain of the Caucasus.
Carpets, made before 1925, can be divided into five groups namely; Kazak, Karabach, Sjirvan, Kuba and Dagestan carpets. The carpets from the Karabach area often have finer patterns and resemble Persian carpets. Outside these groupings there are also Gjandzja, Silé and Verni carpets.
The significance of these beautiful carpets are their geometrical patterns, often with an imaginative and plentiful way of expression. Sometimes curvilinear animal and pattern figures occur in the carpets.
